For once, I'm going to be objective… not yet, but I'll let you know when
I don't think I've ever seen Miley Cyrus live, though I hang on to the dream. I've seen still pictures of her, and I've read some blurbs that mentioned her, and all I know is that she's popular, she had the necessary controversy about something back when that's expected of all performers nowadays, and that her father is the One Hit Wonder, Billy Ray whose hit is still a wonder.
OK, so I'm minding my own business yesterday, and I come across headline that caught my attention. It had to do with little Miley and her little thoughts about Mickey Obama… one of which was:
"I think Michelle Obama is the most beautiful person to ever live in the White House."
I'll begin the objective portion of this post when I get back from throwing up…
OK, forget Jackie, or Laura or Roselyn or even Eleanor (did you think I'd say Hillary?)… I suppose it's possible that Miley actually believes that, but I think it far more likely that her vision is clouded by fantasy, much like the fantasy that surrounded John and Jackie Kennedy. Except that one was far more deserved. Kennedy was a war hero, and Jackie actually was beautiful
Michelle Obama is not ugly, although my wife is arguing with me right this moment that I must be blind, but regardless of whether you believe me or a Filipino woman, she's not beautiful by any objective measure. Her features are actually quite coarse, though she and/or her consultants are able to clean her uup to acceptable levels, but even then she's somewhat gawky. And when she's at her worst, she's undeniably very scary looking indeed.
The crux of my wife's argument, by the way, has to do with how Obama looks when she wakes up in the morning, so she may have a point.
And that concludes the objective part of the program before my head explodes.
My wife felt it was just Miley wanting to fit in. I think it's more than that. I think Miley actually likes Mickey. Which makes her a lot bit Rock & Roll, and not a bit country!
