The Column Of The Day

Once again features Thomas Sowell who says:

Once the election is over, the glittering generalities of rhetoric and style will mean nothing. Everything will depend on performance in facing huge challenges, domestic and foreign. Performance is where Barack Obama has nothing to show for his political career, either in Illinois or in Washington.

Sowell then goes on to detail the challenges, but if you have no need to know the specifics, his conclusion will do:

None of this can be prevented by glib talk, but only by character, courage and decisive actions— none of which Barack Obama has ever demonstrated.

About tedwest

A longtime veteran of comedy and political forums, I decided that I needed a more restful venue because... well... I finally hate everybody. Except my wife that is... and my ex-wife.. and... no, that's about it. I lead about as simple a life as one can, preferring activities that include anything that doesn't involve going out and seeing YOU! And I particularly enjoy what I call "Get the Bitch" movies on Lifetime. You know the ones where the intended victim finally does something so incredibly stupid that she forfeits her right to live, and from that moment on you're rooting for the stalker. Of course, it rarely works out the way you want, but when it does, the feeling you get is... well, there's nothing else like it, other than, maybe, eating chocolate chip cookies. Oh, and I'm proudly anti-wildlife, both foreign and domestic, and anti-environment - especially foreign environments. I think Howard Stern put it best when he said, "If fifty percent of the population died tomorrow, I can live with that." And I feel the same about the other fifty percent, so together, we've pretty much got it all covered.

  1. JudgeBob says:

Milk toast voters are still sitting in front of their tv's and depending on the 6 o'clock news to give them the information they need to make a good decision. (If they care that much) Given the LA Times decision to keep back their video of Barack celebrating with the Palestinian organization, I don't see how they can still put so much trust and reliance on the media. I don't even trust the pollsters to give us a trustworthy report until the last day before the election. They have also been acting as if they are in the tank for Barry. The judges have ruled in favor of voter registration fraud. Who's left? Who will defend authentic information?

  2. TedWest says:

No one can answer that, and adjectives like "appalling" don't begin to convey the seriousness of the lack of reliable information. There have been just a few examples though of liberal reporters being disgusted with their peers, and the Hollywood crowd;s condemnation of MSNBC indicates that not all hope is lost.
And I have to say that I feel some guilt when I criticize Republicans even when they sorely deserve it, because no one on the left criticizes liberals. Even these journalists and Hollywood types who are criticizing the media aren't offering any criticism of actual liberals.
