About tedwest

A longtime veteran of comedy and political forums, I decided that I needed a more restful venue because... well... I finally hate everybody. Except my wife that is... and my ex-wife.. and... no, that's about it. I lead about as simple a life as one can, preferring activities that include anything that doesn't involve going out and seeing YOU! And I particularly enjoy what I call "Get the Bitch" movies on Lifetime. You know the ones where the intended victim finally does something so incredibly stupid that she forfeits her right to live, and from that moment on you're rooting for the stalker. Of course, it rarely works out the way you want, but when it does, the feeling you get is... well, there's nothing else like it, other than, maybe, eating chocolate chip cookies. Oh, and I'm proudly anti-wildlife, both foreign and domestic, and anti-environment - especially foreign environments. I think Howard Stern put it best when he said, "If fifty percent of the population died tomorrow, I can live with that." And I feel the same about the other fifty percent, so together, we've pretty much got it all covered.

Timothy posted a cartoon that did that #1 perfectly. Reporter asking McCain about his running mate's inexperience. McCain replied, "Are you talking to me or Senator Bidden?" Obama is in a baby carriage handled by Bidden.

McCain is good with the comebacks, and people may underestimate him, thinking that he's an old grandfatherly type. I wanted McCain in 2000. I didn't want him this year, but I have to admit that he's the best candidate the Republicans had, and I don't believe anyone else would have had the courage and insight to pick Palin.

  3. JudgeBob says:

What they need to understand in Washington is that the Conservatives turn out when a hardline conservative is set up for the top spot. We are tired of being run over by the extreme left riding the wave of media support. Bush found out very early reaching across the aisle just gets your hand bit off. McCain will have to figure that out for himself. I just hope it doesn't take him more than 6 months. What excites me about Sarah Palin is the likelyhood she'll be running for the top spot in 2012 and probably against Billary. I still want to see a black pres just to put the race crap to bed.

  4. TedWest says:

Palin represents what we thought the Republicans would be when they were in power, and they failed so miserably that she'd be the one taking on her own Congress – if she'd been Prez instead of Bush.
Now I'm getting way ahead of myself, but assuming McCain does a good job and decides not to seek re-election, I'm thinking Palin-Jindal in 2012… assuming the levees hold. Because the Republican response to Gustav is a plus for McCain and Jindal.

  5. Jordan says:

I want to see a Black President too but it has to be a solid Conservative. Nothing else will do.It's totally ludicrous for liberals to take issue with Palin's "brief" experience as she is the VP, while their man, running for the Top job has zero experience and is long on bloviating.

  6. JudgeBob says:

Experience, shmecksperience. I like Palin because she is accomplished. She made Exxon compromise on her terms. That's an accomplishment. She ran against an emcumbent Republican and won. That's an accomplishment. She led by example firing her Governor's chef and cut spending, even stopping the bridge to nowhere federal funding. That's an accomplishment. She's a reformer like Jindel. Yes, that would be our dream team if McCain can keep the conservative base's approval. I would prefer a hardline black conservative by I would vote for a black McCain. What can Barack or the crony, Biden point to as their accomplishments? Barack can talk. He's really good at politicking. (talking a lot but never saying anything but getting a lot of people excited about what he's not saying) But that is not an accomplishment he can point to and say, "See, that's why you should make me the leader of the free world."
