Is it just me, or does it seem that every time Barry-O opens his mouth, something amazingly stupid and dangerous comes out?

And did I mention "stupid?"

Last week, he wanted to personally meet with the leaders of every rogue state, probably at Disney World, so that, As John Lennon put it, the world can live as one. And look how well that worked out for him.

The other day, he was willing to sacrifice every Iraqi in order to get US troops out as soon as possible.

Today, he advocates invading our ally, Pakistan, and cutting off aid in order to flush out al Qaeda. He didn't mention how his friends at the UN felt about the idea, so stay tuned.

Obo also wants to close Guantanamo. Do you think he'd as least be amenable to "tag and release?"

I can almost hear Carly Simon…

About tedwest

A longtime veteran of comedy and political forums, I decided that I needed a more restful venue because... well... I finally hate everybody. Except my wife that is... and my ex-wife.. and... no, that's about it. I lead about as simple a life as one can, preferring activities that include anything that doesn't involve going out and seeing YOU! And I particularly enjoy what I call "Get the Bitch" movies on Lifetime. You know the ones where the intended victim finally does something so incredibly stupid that she forfeits her right to live, and from that moment on you're rooting for the stalker. Of course, it rarely works out the way you want, but when it does, the feeling you get is... well, there's nothing else like it, other than, maybe, eating chocolate chip cookies. Oh, and I'm proudly anti-wildlife, both foreign and domestic, and anti-environment - especially foreign environments. I think Howard Stern put it best when he said, "If fifty percent of the population died tomorrow, I can live with that." And I feel the same about the other fifty percent, so together, we've pretty much got it all covered.

  1. Well, meeting rogue leaders is part of a foreign policy process of reconciliation. That's sweet. As for invading and cutting off funds to Pakistan, which is it? Because if he's going to invade Pakistan, wouldn't that already put funds into the country? As for closing Guantanamo, it should be a gradual thing, after they've decided which secret hidden base wherever else in the world will cater for the hardcore radical Muslims. As for sacrificing every Iraqi to get US troops back, I haven't been hearing of any American troops dying this week. Is it just me, or is it now that Iraqis are the only ones dying anyway, even with the surge? And in Baghdad, the capitol, even.

As much as his opponents like to pick on everything he says, let's be fair here. Why should US continue to shy away from talking to the 'enemy' nations? the longer we dont talk to them, the more we remain in this corner of worldwide hatred. Obama made a GOOD point, but it was just badly presented. There's no way he's just gonna jump on a plane and fly to Iran and North Korea. Some form of talks between senior officials would have to pave the way.No matter what, I'm 100% with Obama on that issue. It's time someone looked these men in the eyes and talked to them in a civilized manner. The longer we let this animosity and paranoia grow, the more we're paving the way for a NUCLEAR WAR.I'm not Liberal, and I think anyone who endorses a Bush-esque "stay away and shut up" strategy needs to get back to their right senses.

It's time someone looked these men in the eyes and talked to them in a civilized manner. So long as we retain the option to put a bullet between said eyes when/if talking doesn't work…I'm down.

  4. Antoine says:

sorry sir.if i go in your line of reasoning, maybe a nuclear war will solve all this.there's no guarantee that talking will "work," but it's to ease tension between leaders. if the next President talks to them, they won't automatically see him as much of a threat to their very existence.the reason why they are going nukes now, is because they see Bush as a threat to their existence. he gave them that impression.

  5. TedWest says:

Note: The Bush Adm. is quiet about what it does, but that in no way indicates we are not talking to some very bad guys, and it appears that the Bush approach is more effective than his predecessor.
Note: Iran is not pursuing nuclear weapons because it feels threatened by America.

  6. Scio, Scio says:

Iran is not pursuing nuclear weapons because it feels threatened by America. Iran is pursuing nuclear technology because of a lack of perceived threat from America, at least that's my impression.

  7. Scio, Scio says:

if i go in your line of reasoning, maybe a nuclear war will solve all this. All international disputes come down to who can hit the hardest.

  8. I think the next President should talk to each of the rogue leaders, look them in the eye and tell them to back off, Jack or I will personally push the big red button and wipe you and your primitive creeps off the face of the planet. I would also tell them there ain't no virgins waiting for them in Hell.I am sick of of playing stupid games with the bad guys. The abolition of the Politically Correct political strategy is long overdue for the graveyard. Be direct, give an ultimatum and back it up with awesome power. It is the only chance to make the world behave like civilized people. Discipline goes a long way as a remedy for bad behavior, not coddling. Where's Harry Truman when you need him?
